Contributors’ Notes

Maia Asshaq (b. 1987) is an Iraqi-born writer and artist currently living in Los Angeles, CA. She is the founder of DittoDitto Books and the Detroit Art Book Fair. In 2015 she received the Gilda Award for emerging writers from the Kresge Foundation. She is a 2016 Salzburg Global Forum Fellow and the co-founder and Editor in Chief of Flint Magazine. Her work has been published by Good Magazine, Weekday, Model D, and The Los Angeles Review of Books, among others.

Chloe Cullen received three degrees from Penn State University: a broadcast journalism bachelor’s, an English bachelor’s, and an English master’s with a creative writing concentration. Her thesis mixed personal essays and short stories, including an early draft of “Mary Jane.” Her work has been previously published in Short Edition, Kalliope, and Penn State’s “Writing the Nonhuman” contest as the nonfiction winner. Matthew Hodges is a writer currently based in Texas. He is the co-author of Austerity Brunch (published by KEITH LLC, 2017) along with various pieces both online and in print. He releases audio work under the name Oil Company. Various mediums.

Chelsea Hogue lives and teaches in Philadelphia, PA. Her work has been published in The Collagist, Quarterly West, Black Sun Lit, and Juked, among others.

Nat Marcus is a poet and printer based in Berlin. Along with Zoe Darsee, Marcus is the editor of the textual body TABLOID Press. Initiated in 2014, TABLOID’s activities have come to encompass book design, documentation, and poetry workshops in addition to its role as an imprint for art and poetry publications. Marcus’ writing has also appeared on Berlin Art Link, Flaunt Magazine, DIS, and Novembre Magazine.

Julia Lans Nowak is a poet, translator, bookseller, and musician currently based in New York City. Her most recent chapbook, Heaven Tabletop Garage, was released in July 2019 and is available at agglutinations.org. Her translations of the poetry of Halina Poswiatowska are forthcoming in 2020.

Olivia Sherman is a Painting MFA candidate, University Fellow, and Teaching Assistant at the Tyler School of Art. She was born in New York City, and has lived and exhibited her work all around the country. She graduated with a BA in Painting and Classics from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA.
