this tiny sliver of prism 
                                          deep sky

another star
one breath deeper
into the night

hurricane remnants
a black vulture circling
the deepening grey

inkstone the impossibility of clouds

a Klein bottle
of sky
mountain bluebird

the path of a swallow through the blue mountains

dimming headlights Castor and Pollux

pressing a red-shouldered hawk
against the firmament
winter evening

the bottomless sky in the Susquehanna
